The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has decided to go in for supercritial boilers for its proposed 1,000 MW plant at Cheyyur, Tamil Nadu. Sources said that it was also decided that the plant would use a blend of Indian and imported coals. Sources say that in future more thermal power producers would go in for supercriticals, rather than the conventional drum-type boilers.
