The National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd (NTPC) has taken a leading role in building that energy capacity that India desperately needs for development. But this also means putting the environment increasingly at higher risk. NTPC has responded admirably by forming CENPEEP (Centre for Power Efficiency and Environmental Protection) to combat this problem.
