The Namrup Thermal Power Station (NTPS) , the first of its kind in the entire northeastern region, with which industrialization set in at Namrup, an unknown slumbering village till early sixties, is now gasping for survival on the face of various internal problems. The Assam State Electircity Board always casts step-motherly eyes towards the development ot this station which was set up in 1965.
