The international outcry against British Nuclear Fuels for submitting falsified safety documents is likely to have profound consequences. The most immediate is that the UK government will have to postpone its plans for a particla privatisation. Second, operating approval for BNFL's 400m pounds Mixed Oxide (MoX) reprocessing plant is certain to be reconsidered. Third, nuclear power plants owners will review the alternatives to reprocessing spent fuel.
