The Australian Government and environmentalists are gearing up for another showdown over the Lucas Heights nuclear reactor, after documents identifying fuel at the new plant were tabled in parliament yesterday. The documents showed that spent fuel from the reactor would be well managed, Industry Minister Nick Minchin said. He said the reactor, to be built in Sydney's south-west from 2002, would use low-enriched rather than the high-enriched fuel the current reactor used.
