Judicious management and improved performance of the existing water resources sector will be given more emphasis than the development of additional sources, in the new National Water Policy (NWP) being contemplated by the Union Governemnt.The Policy, a draft of which is being circulated to all the States, will be discussed at a meeting of the National Water Board (NWB) in New Delhi on October 29.Once the Board clears it, the document will be placed before the National Water Resources Council (NWRC) for approval and adoption.
