An energy efficiency bill passed by the New Zealand parliament put the country on track to meet its climate change obligations, Greens party co-leader Jeanette Fitzsimons said on Thursday. The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Bill, put forward by the Greens, gives the Labour-led government the power to set energy efficiency standards and lays the foundation for New Zealand's first national energy saving plan.
