A consortium led by Cairn Energy (India) Private Limited has made an oil discovery in block CB-OS/2 at the Gulf of Khambhat (offshore Gujarat). This is the fourth hydrocarbon discovery by the consortium within nine months of its first significant strike in May 2000.
