From Angola's Atlantic water to the swamps of southern Sudan, Africa is a new frontier for Western oil explorers with production and revenues rising every day. The continent may be crying out for foreign investment, but by enriching undemocratic governments, fuelling civil wars and polluting the environment, the oil companies may be doing more harm than good, human rights groups say.
