Oil from Caspian could match production from North Sea

In the next decade the Caspian region could become an oil and gas producer on the scale of the North Sea. The importance of the Caspian will increase as world oil demand soars. These are the conclusions of 'Oil and Gas: The Supply Potential of Central Asia and Transcaucasia', published this week by the International Energy Agency (IEA) in co-operation with the Energy Charter Secretariat.
