The spill caused when the world's biggest oil rig sank off Brazil's coast has been contained and environmental damage "is relatively small," the offshore platform's owners said on Wednesday. The 40-story rig, owned by Brazil's state oil giant Petrobras, was damaged by a series of blasts last Thursday that killed 10 crewmen. It sank on Tuesday after five days of expensive but fruitless salvage work.
