Most Americans wouldn't know a Millennium Development Goal, a Monterrey Consensus, or a Doha round if all three jumped out and hit them in the head. But those phrases have life-or-death importance to more than two billion people around the world who survive on barely anything. And at the United Nations, President George. W Bush used them in front of the world. The Millennium Development Goals make up an ambitious agenda adopted by the United Nations in 2000. (Editorial).
