Pakistan can save $ 286 to 355 million annually by importing 1,500 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) natural gas from one option out of three on-card pipeline projects from Turkmenistan, Iran and Qatar. Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources has estimated that the economic benefits of 1,500 mmcfd gas imports from any above option would also be equivalent to 34,933 tonnes of fuel oil per day.
