Lucknow: The first-ever elephant census in Dudhwa Tiger Reserve has thrown up disappointing results. There are 11 elephants present in only one range of the reserve. The forest staff involved in the census work could not spot more elephants during the two-day census period last week.
It is for the first time that an elephant census has been held in the reserve. The two-day census began on May 19. The elephants were found at only two spots in Dudhwa range.
