Military courts to try cases of power theft : The Pakistan government on Tuesday promulgated four ordinances including the one which allowed calling of Armed Forces in aid of WAPDA to combat menace of electricity theft in the country. The ordinance through which the government made emergency provisions to combat stealing of electricity called "Offences in respect of Electricity (emergency provisions) Ordinance, 1998. The ordinance will extend to such areas in which the Armed Forces are called upon to act in aid of civil power under Article 245 to combat the electricity theft.
