Over 6.25 lakh girls become Ladli Laxmis in Madhya Pradesh

The Ladli Laxmi Yojana implemented by the Madhya Pradesh government has rid the society of its tendency of considering girl child as a curse. The scheme launched by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan on May 27, 2007 from Raisen district has given several benefits to the girls in the state. This is why Ladli Laxmi Yojana is gaining tremendous popularity in Madhya Pradesh. People are not adopting it but also motivating others. As a result, six lakh 28 thousand 776 have got benefit of Ladli Laxmi Yojana during the last quarter to four years. Maximum one lakh 38 thousand 85 girls have been benefited in Jabalpur division.
Indore division has emerged second in the implementation of the scheme where 95 thousand 959 girls have been benefited followed by Ujjain division (68,966 girls) and Sagar division (68,037 girls).
Under the scheme, 66 thousand 770 girls have been benefited in Bhopal division, 45 thousand 466 girls in Gwalior division, 44 thousand 578 girls in Rewa division, 34 thousand 593 girls in Shahdol division, 34 thousand 692 girls in Narmadapuram division and 31,630 in Chambal division.
Chhindwara district topped in the implementation of Ladli Laxmi Yojana where 29 thousand 648 girls were benefited followed by Jabalpur (29,189 girls), Indore (24,040 girls), Sagar (22,033 girls), Balaghat (21,414 girls), Bhopal (20,585), Dhar (20,119 girls), Betul (18,889 girls) and Satna (18,010 girls).
Jabalpur division is leading in taking the benefit of the scheme during the current fiscal 2010-11 and so far extended benefits to 40 thousand 171 girls. It is followed by Indore division (27,899 girls), Ujjain (22,862 girls), Sagar (21,380 girls) and Bhopal division (17,947 girls). Eight to 15 thousand girls have been benefited by Ladli Laxmi Yojana in rest of the districts during the period.
