Pakistan 'water scarce country'

Pakistan has become 'water scarce country' as its water availability has reached at 800 cubic meter per person during 2000 as compared to expected 1400 cubic meter per person.This shortage has resulted in to 40 percent fall in water availability because of no rains during the current season.This was stated by Akram Kahlown Chairman Pakistan Council For Research in Water Resources, while speaking at the National Consultation on Public Services and Consumers Concerns organised by Consumer rights Commission of Pakistan in collaboration with Liberal Forum and Friedrich-Naumann Foundation.
