Malaysia officially launched the burning of crude palm oil (CPO) as an energy source in a move to support prices and ease stockss. "This project has been formulated as a safety net for the Malaysian palm oil industry during low prices so that farmers and other involved in the industry are given a fair and remunerative price," a joint statement by primary industries minister Lim Keng Yaik and energy minister Leo Moggie said.
