A House committee in Thailand wants chronic problems at the controversial Mae Moh lignite-fired power plant tackled within this government's term. Pinit Chanthasurin, chairman of the House committee on energy, said the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat), which built the Mae Moh power plant, should not delay solving the problems caused by its power plant. He called on Egat to seriously tackle the pollution problem and speed up its plan to relocate affected villagers to safer areas.
