Ranchi, Jan. 27: Deputy chief minister Raghubar Das, who holds charge of the energy department, has set up a three-member committee to probe frequent breakdowns at the Tenughat Vidyut Nigam Ltd (TVNL) plant.
Before leaving for New Delhi today with chief minister Shibu Soren to attend a meeting with the Union home minister tomorrow, Das told The Telegraph that the committee had been asked to submit its report within 15 days so that remedial action could be taken.
The committee comprises chief engineer in the energy department, Ramesh Chandra, general manager of Patratu Thermal Power Station (PTPS) P. N. Singh, and chief engineer of Bokaro Thermal Power Station, J. K. Singh.
TVNL, which supplies 200MW to the state daily, failed at least five times over the last three months due to leakage in tubes in the plant
