It was a significant message painted on the Delhi Transport Corporation's new CNG bus fleet. It said 'Pollution Free CNG Bus' or 'Non Polluting CNG Bus'. And now under instructions from Delhi Transport Minister Parvez Hashmi, this strip is being removed. The buses acknowledge using CNG as their fuel. They no longer use the adjective 'pollution-free' or 'non polluting'.Evidently, Hashmi isn't merely trying to score debating points days before the Supreme Court's deadline. Critics says that his order is clearly part of a distinct effort by the government to orchestrate a campaign against CNG and its obvious advantages.
