Beware of smoking and spitting in public places and littering of plastics in this popular tourist state of Goa. The offence could attract a penalty of Rs 5,000. The State Government has launched a drive to strictly implement the Goa Prohibition of Smoking and Spitting in Public Places Act 1997 and the Goa Non-bio Degradable Garbage Control Act 1996 to maintain clean environment and keep the State green.
