The power of negative thinking may have a stronger influence on well being than the power of positive thinking, a study by Ohio State University psychologists suggests. Researchers found that the possible harm associated with a pessimistic outlook - increased anxiety, stress, depression and ill health - appears greater than the protective good conferred by an optimistic outlook. Pessimism "may be the more crucial factor," they concluded.
