The ministry of power has sought intervention of the petroleum ministry in getting fixed prices of LNG, at affordable rates, for the viability of LNG based power projects in the country. Following a steep hike in the crude oil prices, the LNG prices have also touched high levels, therby putting a big question mark on the fate of a series of LNG-based power projects planned by generation companies like the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC).
