CAG report : Even as the Bharatiya Janata Party's Delhi Government cites lacunae in the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act for its failure to curb adulteration in food items and lately, mustard oil, the government would do well to first set its house in order. There has been a drastic reduction in the number of samples of food items lifted by the department after the BJP came to power in the Capital in November 1993. This has been the case despite a gradual increase in the number of samples, which were being found adulterated.
