Providing a ray of hope to the residents of Gurgaon, Haryana Government has promised to build a modern solid waste-treatment plant at Bandhwari village, along the Gurgaon-Faridabad road.
Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA),Gurgaon, has already acquired 30.51 acre land for the plant, planned to be built at a cost of Rs 7.03 crore. It would have the capacity to treat 1,000 tonnes of waste and a green belt would also be developed along the treatment plant, according to sources.

Gurgaon MC had leased out 30.5 acres of land at Bandhwari village to the Faridabad MC Commissioner on October 17 free of cost for a period of 30 years. The entire expenditure for the setting up of the plant would be borne by the Municipal Corporation, Faridabad, sources said.
