Plan outlay for Tripura pegged at Rs 804 cr

Tripura's annual plan for 2005-06 has been fixed at Rs 804 crore against the current fiscal approved outlay of Rs 700.27 crore. This was decided here at a meeting between the State Chief Minister, Mr Manik Sarkar, and the Planning Commission Deputy Chairman, Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia. In his remarks, Dr Ahluwalia complimented the State for improved financial performance, but said agricultural activities in the State should be diversified and bamboo cane craft should be taken up in a big way. The State Chief Minister briefed the Plan panel about the various initiatives being undertaken by his Government.
