Commending the comprehensive fiscal reforms raised by Tamil Nadu, the Planning Commission approved an over 20 per cent increase in the State's annual plan outlay for 2003-04, bringing its size to Rs 7,000 crores. As this virtually meets the State Government's demand for a rise in the outlay, the chief Minister Jayalalithaa has expressed her satisfaction with the decision.
