The National Hydroelectric Power Corporaiton has decided to develop the wind and the tidal power resources of the country. The corporation has accordingly amended its menorandum of association at an extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders today. India has vast tidal and wind power potential which still reamins to be tapped. Wind power potential has been estimated at 25,000 MW. NHPC is the premier hydropower utility of the country.
