A plan to build a Jurassic Park at a former industrial waste disposal site has raised concerns that part of the first Universal Studio project outside the United States will be built over soil contaminated with toxins. Environmentalists and activists are calling for a thorough and open examination of the site to ensure safety of the planned roller-coaster amusement park. The facility will be part of Universal Studio Japan, scheduled to open in 2001 in the bay area in Konohana Ward, Osaka.
