Concerned over the dismal fiscal health of the states, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has convened a meeting of the full Planning Commission early next month to discuss ways of assisting states in tiding over financial crisis. "The full Planning Commission will meet, may be, in the second week of June, to discuss the issue of state finances," official sources told PTI. The Plan panel is likely to consider a plethora of ways to assist states.
