The initial financial outlay of the agenda announced by the Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee for socio-economic development of the Northeast and improving security scenario at Shillong in January 2000 has risen to Rs 12,390.29 crore from Rs 10,271 crore. The agenda announced by Mr Vajpayee pertained to 28 schemes.
