The attempts of the police to check the illegal trade in human organs in likely to be a non-starter since the state government has yet to ratify the Human Organ Transplant (HOT) Act of 1994. This lacuna was discovered by the CID of the state police while probing the kidney racket in Raj Chikitsa Hospital at New Patliputra colony.
