Registration of new two wheelers not conforming to India 2000 norms has been stopped in the Calcutta region from yesterday. This eliminates almost all the two-stroke bikes without catalytic converters which cannot be registered in the city anymore. The decision has been taken by the state's environment department to curb pollution in the city.
