In a move aimed at asserting its authority, the Delhi Pollution Control Committee(DPCC) has served notices on the Capital's three thermal power stations - Badarpur, Rajghat and Indraprastha - to either install pollution control devices by June 30 or face a shutdown. The three have been accused of releasing tonnes of flyash into the atmosphere every day causing massive air pollution leading to various health hazards.
