The Chennai Corporation's move to turn its large volumes of garbage into electricity through a yet-to-be established technology has led to furrowed brows among environmentalists. The MoU for the effort was signed by the Corporation with Energy Development India to generate electricity out of the 3,000 tonnes per day waste generated in Chennai.
