Ukraines's decision to name the day the ill-fated Chernobyl power plant will shut is most welcome. The announcement of the December 15 closure date, made during a visit by US president Bill Clinton, is good news for millions of Europeans, including many Ukrainians, who have lived in fear of Chernobyl since the 1986 explosion.
