Power ministry sounds alert from Dec 30- Jan 2

The Union ministry of power has sounded a special alert between December 30 and January 2 to combat any possible fallout from the Y2K problem. The ministry is posting 15 power engineers, specially trained by the National Informatics Centre at strategic locations to tackle any Y2K-related problem, on these four critical days. These engineers are likely to posted at all the regional load despatch centres (RLDCs) and some other major power plants.
