Power plant crosses another milestone

CHANDIGARH: The Rajiv Gandhi Thermal Power Project at Khedar in Hisar district crossed another major milestone on Wednesday when its first unit of 600 MW was fired on coal and synchronised with the grid in a record period of 36 months. Full load operation Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited Managing Director Sanjeev Kaushal said the unit was synchronised with the grid on coal firing at 6-50 a.m. and was presently running at a load of around 75 MW. He said the successful coal firing of Unit-1 had paved the way for achievement of full load operation which is expected by February 21.
