The second of country's eight "fast track" power projects began to produce power in Andhra Pradesh after being mired in controversy and procedural wrangles for five years.The 208 megawatt gas-based project in the eastern coastal town of Kakinada is promoted by New York-based non-resident Indian-owned Spectrum Technologies and the Hyderabad-based Jaya Foods and has the NTPC and Rolls Royce as partners.
