Power purchase contract of 298 MW inked

MP Power Trading Company has inked contract with two thermal power stations that 30 per cent of the electricity generated in them will be utilised by Madhya Pradesh (MP) government. MPPTC has signed contract for short-term power purchase of 198 MW with Koradi Thermal Power Station of Mumbai and another 100 MW short-term power purchase contract has been inked with Chandrapur. Besides this in the current financial year three new bank agreements have been done. At present 120 MW electricity is being obtained through banking. In this connection State Government has signed letter with Reliable Thermal Power and Adani Power Limited. State will get 30 per cent of the electricity generated in these projects. Electricity worth Rs 490 crore has been sold in one-year. In one year MPPTC sold electricity worth Rs 490 crore which was 657.24 million units. During Rabi season electricity worth Rs 384.46 crore amounting to 501.40 million units was purchased. Due to this MPPTC earned profit of Rs 105 crore. Renovation of power house: Power generating unit at Satpura Thermal Power Station, Sarni and Amarkantak Thermal Power Station Chachai were renovated by spending Rs 124.30 crore. There are five units of 62.5 MW, one unit of 200 MW and three units of 210 MW at Sarni. At Amarkantak there are two units of 120 MW and one unit of 210 MW. Work of new units begins: In Khandwa district work of 1200 MW Singaji Thermal Power Project and work of two units at Satpura Thermal Power House of 250 MW each has commenced. Besides this 2 units of 800 MW each are jointly being prepared with the help of BHEL at Shahdol.
