Dibrugarh, Sept 14: The Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification scheme (RGRES) has turned into a fiasco in most of the rural areas as villagers remain deprived of power supply despite claims of its successful implementation by the authority. Work at Dhekeri village and its outskirts in Pub Banipur area are half complete while in some areas the villagers are yet to receive electricity despite the completion of the ground work. The residents are paying frequent visits to Power grid, Indoor power and other companies entrusted with the implementation work with requests to supply power but to no avail.
