India has one of the most rigorous environmental laws. With regard to powr projects they have always been applied with no latitude of any type. It is important to point out that unlike rest of the world, India does not have coal with high sulphur content and, therefore, the emissions of our power plants are safer than those of the western world, said Union Power Minister Rangarajan Kumaramangalam during an hour-long chat show conducted by the Express Online Media Ltd recently.
