Power utilities willing to switch over to gas, if supply guaranteed

Pakistan's Ministry of Water and Power has informed the World Bank that Wapda and KESC were willing to switch over their furnace oil-powered plants to gas, provided supply of gas is ensured without disruption, it is learnt. A four-member World Bank "gas pipeline mission" that arrived here on Monday held a threadbare meeting with the water and power ministry officials suggesting switch over of thermal power plants to save huge foreign exchange.
