When the space shuttle Columbia next blasts off, it will resemble a Noah's ark of creepy-crawlies including insects, rats and 18 pregnant mice. The mice, along with 1,514 crickets, 135 snails, 152 rats and 223 fish, are scheduled to take off on Thursday aboard Columbia to research how the nervous system is affected by weightlessness.
