Faster action and more research and funding are needed to prevent the extinction of further flora and fauna in the country, the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) said. MNS president Datuk Dr Salleh Mohd Nor said Malaysia needed to learn from the inevitable extinction of the leatherback turtle--the first animal species in the country that will likely go extinct in this millennium.
