A Project submitted to the Department of Science and Technology six months ago by a Delhi based physicist, Prof S P Kapoor, to reduce the damage caused by a cyclone and to harness the latent energy present in the cyclone to the advantage of mankind, is lying frozen. Prof Kapoor's project proposed to use the method of Ocean Thermal Energy conversion, which is the technology for generating electricity from different ocean temperatures.
