The government will finally approve the British Nuclear Fuels $690m plutonium recycling plant at Sellafield in Cumbria, north-west England. The decision, expected to be confirmed by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural affairs, comes after years of delays, which have left the mixed oxide (Mox) plant unable to begin commercial operations even though it was completed in 1996.
