In southern Punjab, the residents of twenty-five villages are up in arms against the government's proposal to build a nuclear power station on their farmland. The villagers say, they are concerned about unforeseen environmental and health hazards that are likely to follow the construction and operation of a nuclear power plant in close proximity to their homes.
