The governemnt is condisering inviting the private sector in exploiting a new energy source -coal bed methane (CBM)-in a bid to narrow the demand-supply gap in natural gas. A detailed plan awaiting approval from the cabinet committee on economic affairs (CCEA) proposes identifying and offering blocks for exploraiton and exploitation of CBM under open international competitive bidding.
